Three In One AAC

Over the years, I have painted a number of Army Air Corps aircraft in various individual settings, but for Three In One AAC, I decided to bring three of them together in one painting.

The Apache, Lynx Mk7 and Gazelle have each played an important part in Army Air Corps history, although their roles and capabilities have been quite different.

The Gazelle became well known for its reconnaissance, observation and liaison duties, while the Lynx proved itself as a versatile helicopter capable of undertaking a wide range of military operations. The Apache brought a significant development in the Army Air Corps’ attack capability, combining advanced surveillance systems with considerable firepower.

Having painted these aircraft separately on previous occasions, I thought it would be interesting to bring them together in a single piece.

Of course, the painting has prompted a number of comments asking why certain other Army Air Corps aircraft weren’t included! Perhaps one day I’ll produce another three in one featuring a different selection.

Three In One AAC has since become one of my best-selling prints, reflecting the continued interest in these aircraft and their place in British military aviation history.
