The Death Star Doesn’t Stand a Chance

The Death Star Doesn’t Stand a Chance is a playful interpretation of one of the world’s most recognisable attack helicopters, placing the British Army Air Corps Apache AH-64E into an entirely fictional scenario against the Death Star from the Star Wars universe.

While much of my work is inspired by historical events and real aircraft, this painting embraces the freedom that artistic licence provides. By combining a modern military helicopter with one of science fiction’s most iconic creations, the piece explores a “what if?” scenario that could only exist through art.

Originally painted in acrylic, the artwork retains the detail and character of the Apache while introducing a light-hearted concept that celebrates both military aviation and popular culture. It offers a different perspective on a familiar aircraft, demonstrating how imagination can sit comfortably alongside historical and aviation subjects.
